We are thrilled to share the news! The Janáček Opera NdB production of Janáček’s Katya Kabanova has achieved extraordinary success in the newly announced Thalia Award nominations.
In the Best Female Performance in Opera category, Kateřina Kněžíková has reached the final shortlist for her captivating performance in the title role of Katya. In a remarkable tribute to the Brno opera stage, all three finalists in this category belong to NdB productions—she competes alongside Magdaléna Kožená (Alcina) and Ester Pavlů (Aida).
The production’s acclaim is further highlighted by a longlist nomination for Václava Krejčí Housková for her outstanding portrayal of Varvara. Warmest congratulations to both singers! The winners will be announced live on ČT1 from the National Theatre in Prague on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
