17. 11. 2024, 7 p.m.
Janáček Theatre
Staatskapelle Berlin
Conductor: Jakub Hrůša
Piano: Jan Bartoš
The performance lasts 120 minutes including a 25-minute intermission.
Chief conductor Christian Thielemann has unfortunately been forced to cancel his appearance at the head of the Staatskapelle Berlin at the festival concert on 17 November due to injury.
The outstanding conductor Jakub Hrůša, who has already appeared with great success at the festival with his Bamberger Symphoniker, will take the baton in his place.
There is also to be a change to the programme and the Staatskapelle Berlin is now to perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73 and Brahms’s Symphony No. 1.
Thank you for understanding this sudden change. We wish Christian Thielemann a speedy recovery.
Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, Op. 73
Johannes Brahms: Symphony No. 1 in C minor, op. 68
