The Faculty of Arts of the Masaryk University is one of the four oldest faculties of the university. The building, which houses the Faculty of Arts Auditorium, underwent a major reconstruction in 2015 and is now one of the architecturally exceptional buildings in the city. In his design, architect Petr Pelčák combined modern functionalist efficiency with historical decoration in the form of casts of antique statues. The heart of the faculty is the Central Library of the Faculty of Arts, built in 2000–2002 according to the design of academic architects Ladislav Kuba and Tomáš Pilař.

In relation to the surrounding urban development, the four-storey building is designed as a contrasting, simple object, which expresses its importance for the life of the faculty. Contrasts are also evident in the materials of the building’s interior – the rough monolithic concrete structure is complemented by toughened glass with coloured printing, powder-coated steel elements, stainless steel and coloured accents in the carpets and information elements. Today, the building is considered an architectural gem and has won numerous awards. It is freely accessible to the public. The complex also includes the KaFFe café.

The Auditorium of the Faculty of Arts is located in Building C, Room C33.
